It meant a lot to me.

The sun warming cheek after a dreary January.

The fresh air fluttering across my face after dealing with a week of COVID with my daughter.

The bend of my knees and stretch of my muscles after weeks of fatigue and increased chronic pain.

This short walk around my neighborhood may not look like anything special to an outsider.

But it meant a lot to me.

  1. Your piece made me think of the joys of walking, one month from spring, and the satisfaction you get from perseverance. I also liked the /f/ alliteration in the second stanza: fresh, fluttering, and face.

  2. I really liked your line, how it may not look like much to an outsider… It turns your short piece into a bigger piece, as it reminds us that we don’t know the stories of the folks we pass by, and what they are dealing with/recovering from.
